The Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation for the Progress of Humankind (FPH) is a Swiss foundation that makes grants to civil society movements and organisations to support their actions in favour of a social and ecological transition.
Budget 2018-2020: 0 €
After four years of partnership, it appears that the World Democratic Forum’s attempt to contribute to the emergence of a worldwide movement of citizens (‘do tank’ function) and the formulation (‘think tank’ function) and diffusion (‘forum’ function) of a translocalised, citizens’ approach to world governance, has not succeeded. This has led the foundation to reconsider its working hypotheses on world governance. Instead of committing itself to utopian or unrealistic scenarios not within its reach or covered by its resources, FPH now hopes to contribute to the development of a transnational or European legal framework within certain programmes or their themes (for example: agro-ecology, land, refugees, etc.). Consequently, this programme has been closed in 2018.
