The Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation for the Progress of Humankind (FPH) is a Swiss foundation that makes grants to civil society movements and organisations to support their actions in favour of a social and ecological transition.
Climate Action Network-France (RAC-F), an association specialised on the topic of climate change, brings together 21 national associations working to protect the environment, provide international solidarity, support users of public transportation and encourage energy alternatives. RAC-F is the French representative of the Climate Action Network (CAN), which has 900 member associations across the world.
Since 1996, Climate Action Network-France and its member associations have striven to bring the causes and impacts of climate change to the attention of decision-makers and the public at large. Through their creation of expert reports and advocacy on the local, regional, national, European and international levels, the association encourages governments to take the necessary steps to adapt to changes in progress and to limit emissions of greenhouse gasses as quickly as possible.
For many years now, RAC-F has worked directly with CLER on the energy transition (law, financing, ‘transitionmetre’).
RAC-F’s missions are to:
– Provide information on climate change and its importance;
– Monitor States’ and local authorities’ commitments and actions in the fight against greenhouse gasses;
– Denounce lobbies and States that slow or weaken international action;
– Propose public policies that are consistent with international commitments to reduce France’s emissions.
