Actions Consommateurs Travailleurs (achACT)

Identity card

AchACT - Actions Consommateurs Travailleurs, is a group of 22 organisations in the French-speaking part of Belgium. The group includes unions, NGOs, consumers’ associations, women’s groups, youth organisations and groups that work to defend fair-trade and human rights. There is a similar platform in Flanders, called the Schone Kleren Campagne, and achACT members work regularly with their Flemish counterparts.

A non-profit organisation in operation since 2011, achACT wants to help improve working conditions and support workers in light industries that have become highly globalised, and in which women form the major part of the workforce.

achACT is the international coordinator of the Clean Clothes Campaign (www.cleanclothes.org). The Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) is an international alliance that has worked since 1989 to improve conditions and increase automation for people in the worldwide clothing and sports equipment industries.
