The Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation for the Progress of Humankind (FPH) is a Swiss foundation that makes grants to civil society movements and organisations to support their actions in favour of a social and ecological transition.
RSP, Réseau Semences Paysannes or Farmers’ seed network, created in 2003, is made up primarily of associations but also includes a small group of individual members. The network’s 90 member organisations are found all across France, and include local and national groups of organic, biodynamic and small-scale farmers, associations for the preservation of cultivated diversity, small-scale seed producers, a natural regional park, environmental NGOs, and an international solidarity association. Most of its members are associations of farmers and gardeners who are active in the field. RSP was also at the origin of the European network for farmers’ seeds known as CE-LLD, for European Coordination - Let’s liberate diversity.
The goal of the association is to create and lead a network of knowledge and know-how intended to encourage, develop and promote dynamic management of cultivated diversity on farms and in gardens, and the conservation, selection and multiplication of seeds and seedlings from varieties well-suited to an area or to agro-ecological production methods.
