Programme : Transition to sustainable societies

The lifestyle of industrial societies has gone beyond the limits of what the planet can accept. Not only can these lifestyles not be extended to other societies, but the industrial societies themselves must make radical changes to curtail consumption.
The FPH supports actors in this transition in the following areas:
With regard to practices, support for solutions that use soft technology rather than sophisticated solutions that users have not fully mastered,

On the sectorial level, widespread application of fair trade principles through branch agreements,
On the territorial level, development of local potential by encouraging production processes that reduce flows and transport,

With regard to economic and macroeconomic organisations (particularly companies), reform of management models and ways of approaching management.

On the level of individuals, support for a re-balancing of consumption and social ties in people’s lifestyles,
